Sampler & Counted Thread

Sampler and Counted Thread Group

All embroiderers are very welcome to come along and join us on the second Monday of each month especially, if one is able to count, talk and stitch at the same time! Perhaps it is time to contemplate beginning or completing that counted thread masterpiece or class project – please consider joining us.
We are the result of the amalgamation of three former Guild groups – the Sampler, Counted and Cross Stitch Group, Sew Small and the Canvas Group and therefore in compass a wide variety of embroidery styles.

The Sampler, Counted Thread and Cross Stitch Group began 23 years ago under the direction of founding member Mignon Ide, with its original aim being to stitch the Commemorative Sampler now hanging in Hughes Street .  The group has since grown and diversified. Historic samplers involving many different stitches and styles are of special interest to many of us.

The Sew Small Group began whilst our Guild was based in Unley. Its name refers to the limited meeting space available to stitch in not the size of the piece finally stitched! Once again a wide variety of projects were undertaken.

The Canvas Group is the most recent addition to our expanding Group.

Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month.
