Library Policies and Services
General
There is a loan fee of 20c per item per month borrowed. These fees contribute to Library income which is used to maintain the collection and purchase new material. None of the Library collection is for sale. Items will not be posted.
Reference materials are generally not available for loan but short term loans may be possible by arrangement.
City Borrowing
South Australian Guild members may borrow up to 6 items (any non-reference books, periodicals or charts) for 1 month. Loans may be extended if the item has not been reserved by another member.
Country Branches' Borrowing
Bulk loans may be arranged by the Country Branch Librarians, or alternatively, isolated country members may prefer to borrow books directly from the Library. Branches may borrow up to 20 items (any non-reference books, periodicals or charts).
If the Library Sub-committee is required to organize books for collection or shipping, Branches are asked to submit such loan requests on a Country Branch Loan Request form (see link below), giving at least 1 week's notice.
Pre-payment of the $10.00 courier cost is required if Branches want items shipped to them. The Guild's Office Manager will organize shipping once the Library Sub-committee has received pre-payment and processed and packed the loan items. Country Branches' loans are due for return 3 months from the pick-up date (except Eyre Peninsula, 6 months).
The loan form is in PDF format. If you do not have the free PDF reader, you can download it and install it on your computer from HERE.
