Celebrations
Twenty-five members of the South Coast Branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild of SA celebrated the end of its twentieth year at their Christmas luncheon on December 8th. Fourteen past members were able to join in the celebrations and many friendships were renewed with plenty of laughter and reminiscing. Also present were the State President, Pat Beaven, and State Executive members Gillian Smith, Elizabeth Bartram and Margaret Lucas. Special guest was Eleanor Adams who was the State President in 1991 when the South Coast Branch was formed.
President, Helen Withers, presented 'Twenty Year' certificates to the three foundation members, Margaret Drummond, Pauline McEwin and Catherine Bristow-
Smith. She also presented a cheque to the State President as a donation to Guild Headquarters after our successful exhibition earlier in the year.
Foundation President, Margaret Drummond cut the birthday cake with Eleanor Adams. Eight presidents from the past 20 years were present at the luncheon.
A wonderful ‘Show and Tell’ of completed articles showcased the members’ talents and techniques practiced at recent workshops.
