Junior Embroiderers (JEMS)

This group caters for school children aged 8 years and over. Students learn the basics of embroidery by completing small projects designed for their age group. Experienced embroiderers provide individualised guidance.

Jems meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays during term time

Guidelines for JEMS sessions

  • Collecting & Dropping off Students: For security reasons, parents/guardians are required to deliver to and collect Junior Embroiderers from the Gallery door. The Guild car park is available for use (enter from Hughes Street).
  • Our tutors are all volunteers, so it’s appreciated if you can be on time to collect students at the end of each session.
  • Parent/Guardian Attendance: To minimise distractions, we respectfully request that parents/guardians do not remain during the class session, except for those who are recognised volunteer tutors.
  • Parents of new students are invited to stay for 2 or 3 sessions to enable a smooth transition for their child.
Please bring to each session: An A4 folder with plastic sleeves for project instructions, workbox, and embroidery scissors.
