Anybody may attend as classes are open to both members and non-members. Also, if you prefer, individual private tuition can be arranged.

Who do I speak to about class enrolments?
Class enrolment inquiries are handled through the Office.

                                                                                                                          How do I pay?
Cheques should be made out to The Embroiderers' Guild of SA Inc and sent with a completed Class Enrolment Form for each class to 16 Hughes Street, MILE END, SA 5031. Extra forms are available in the Gallery and Studio. Credit card payment is accepted through the office in office hours. You are asked to include a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your application so that your receipt and a "List of class requirements" can be mailed back to you. Stamps and envelopes can be purchased from the Desk Hostess.

How soon do I need to send in my class application(s)?
Applications close 2 weeks prior to the commencement of a class. Closing dates for each class are included on the class list.

As some classes are very popular, a place can be reserved for most classes with a non-refundable deposit of $10.00 per class. The balance of the class fee is then to be paid 28 days before the class is due to begin. Balances do not need a new form. They can be presented (with a self-addressed, stamped envelope) in an envelope clearly marked with your Name, Class and Amount Paid.

Each month the Review will list a reminder of the due dates. Your receipt and "List of class requirements" will be sent to you after you have paid the balance. A reserved class place is forfeited if payment is not received within this time frame.

Can I call in to Guild headquarters and deliver my class application(s) and payment?
Yes. If you place your fees, forms and a self-addressed, stamped envelope together in a sealed envelope, you may then leave them in the Class Enrolment box in the Office. Your receipt and a list of class requirements will be mailed back to you.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind or find it impossible to attend a class?
A refund is made only if a class is fully booked or cancelled, or in special circumstances.

If you find you are unable to attend a class or change your mind, you may make private arrangements to transfer your class booking to another person.

Generally, it is Guild policy that no refunds will be made.

What should I bring to each class?
Please bring your usual sewing tools, (needles, pins, thimble, tape measure, sharp scissors and a reel of light coloured thread for tacking), and any other items noted on your list of class requirements.

If you need to bring your sewing machine, don't forget to bring the attachments, the manual and some extra needles. It is also important that you have a good working knowledge of your machine.

Bring some small change for the kit fee if appropriate.

                                                                                                                          What time do classes begin?
Please note that class times may vary, but are generally 10.00am-3.30pm. Please notify your tutor if you know you will be late as classes do start on time. You need to arrive 10mins before the start so you are ready to begin precisely at 10am.

                                                                                                                          Is there a creche?
Regretfully creche facilities are not available.

Will the Guild organise extra classes if there is a demand for them?
Extra classes can be organised upon request to the Education Sub-committee. A minimum of 6 people is required.

Is there anything else I need to be aware of?
Take note of the dates of special pre-class days. These dates are usually listed in the "Review". Contact your tutor if special arrangements need to be made.
